Kia–Broncos Champion Deadly Choices
For the fourth successive year, two of the Brisbane Broncos’ high profile partners are teaming up to make a difference in communities across Australia, for Deadly Choice Round.
Kia Australia will give up its prime position on the front of the team’s jersey, and let Deadly Choices take centre stage, with prime-time exposure during the NRL clash with the Newcastle Knights at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
Deadly Choices will also be afforded naming rights for the Round 15 game, which will reinvigorate a Statewide health initiative, aimed at promoting preventative health checks amongst Indigenous communities across Queensland.
Jerseys featuring impressive designs created by renowned local artist, Casey Coolwell-Fisher will be highlighted as part of the initiative, becoming a limited-edition incentive for those who book in for a health check at a participating community-controlled health service.
The jerseys will also be featured when youngsters from Cherbourg, Rockhampton, Gold Coast and Brisbane communities take part in the mini-league pre-game entertainment at Suncorp Stadium.
Having completed their annual health check, the children will also form a guard of honour and run both teams out, in a fitting celebration of the Broncos Deadly Choices Round.
IUIH CEO, Adrian Carson praised the collaboration between private enterprise and professional sporting clubs.
“When we can together show a commitment to community initiatives like this one, it better enables our Deadly Choices teams to make genuine impact across the entire country, through education and empowerment,” Carson said.
“Through the continued and valued support of Kia Australia and the Brisbane Broncos, Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities will again have access to replica shirts of the deadly 2023 Broncos Indigenous Jersey, as an incentive to complete their health check at a local, participating health service.
“These special, limited-edition health check shirts are always popular and bound to build excitement among community and importantly will see individuals and families, young and old, continuing to make deadly choices.”
Chief Executive Officer at Kia Australia, Damien Meredith, said Kia was proud of their ongoing relationship and the opportunity to raise awareness for such an important community cause.

Brisbane Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said the returning initiative is always a club favourite, given its deep commitment to Indigenous communities.
“It’ll be a proud moment to see Deadly Choices front and centre again when the team runs out on Saturday night, in what has been our most popular Indigenous jersey to date, and this adds yet more special meaning to it.
