Join us at the Deadly Choices 2026 Women’s Netball Carnival!

It will be a deadly day with Mob. There will be IUIH stalls and activities for jarjum with Deadly Kindies.

This year, teams will compete in U14s (ages 12–14) and Opens (ages 15+), with lunch provided for players.

Australian Netball Diamond #105 Sharon Finnan-White will lead a selection identification opportunity in partnership with the First Nations Academy of Excellence Netball for players aged 15–23 for pathways and opportunities for both emerging and experienced players.

Opens (Ages 15+): $200 per team

Team Numbers

A team may have a maximum of 10 registered players

Team lists must be submitted by Friday, 27 February 2026.

Do I have to provide a 715 Health Check or have a Proof of Booking confirmation?

All Deadly Choices events require participants to have an up to date 715 Health Check. You can upload your completed 715 Health Check form here.

Please note: ‘Proof of Booking’ will no longer be accepted by the Deadly Choices team in lieu of a 715 Health Check confirmation form. So, all players must have completed a 715 Health Check within the 12 months prior to event day to compete.

No 715 Health Check = No Play

When will the draw be released?

The Deadly Choices Events Team will create the official draw for the DC Netball Carnival. Team managers will be notified of draw release the week of the event.

When do registrations close?

Registrations will close Friday, 6 February 2026 or when the event reaches capacity.

Do I need to pay to play?

We have updated our carnival fees.

Open Women’s Division: $200 per team (non-refundable)

U14s Division: Free

Because of this, teams must pay all fees in full before registrations close. To confirm your place, complete payment by the closing date. Teams that do not pay will not appear in the final draw.

Can I register as an individual?

No individual registrations will be accepted, only team registrations.

Do parents/guardians need to be in attendance?

For players under 18, a parent or guardian needs to be in attendance at all times.

The venue has shaded areas for spectators to sit along with sugar-free drinks and food available.

What’s included in the kit?

Each participant will receive a playing shirt.

Participants are required to bring their own hats, water bottles, runners and other exercise clothes.

Can you play up or down a division in the DC Netball Carnival?

All players must register under their correct age category.

What is the First Nations Academy of Excellence Netball identification opportunity?

Throughout the carnival, Australian Netball Diamond #105 Sharon Finnan-White will be on the ground, offering a selection identification opportunity with the First Nations Academy of Excellence (FNAE) Netball Emerging Talent Program for players aged 15–23.

As she watches games across the day, Sharon may invite some players to join the FNAE Academy.

This opportunity has already made a difference. At the 2025 Deadly Choices Townsville Netball Carnival, Sharon identified twenty young players who have since continued into high-level training and mentoring through the Academy. It’s about recognising potential, supporting development, and creating strong pathways for our young people.

Can non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons participate?

All players must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and provide a 715 Health Check form.

Can I purchase food at the venue?

During the carnival, a food vendor will sell food and drinks that follow the Deadly Choices catering guidelines, including sugar-free drink options.

To support a safe and healthy environment, the DC Netball Carnival is a smoke, vape, alcohol, drug and sugar free event.

In addition, all participants will receive a lunch pass for one food item and one drink for the carnival, supplied by Deadly Choices.

How do I get to the DC Netball Carnival? (transport/parking)

Parking is available but limited, as shown on the site map. For this reason, please allow enough time to park and walk to the courts. To reduce congestion, we encourage carpooling or using public transport where possible.

If you’re travelling by bus, Downey Park Netball Association sits just a 3-minute walk from several Downey Park bus stops. To plan your trip, check TransLink for the latest bus and train services in the area.

Where can I get a 715 Health Check?

You can get your 715 Health Check at your local Aboriginal Medical Service or GP. Please ensure they fill out our health check completion form with a stamp to submit as a part of your registration.

What accessibility features are available?

We will utilise courts 1 to 9 which can be seen on the site map. Because this area is flat and concrete, it allows easy access for everyone.

For safety, the viewing areas are in the green-marked areas around Courts 1 to 9. These areas run along the court edges, which helps keep everyone safe during play. To avoid congestion, please stay within the green lines and do not stand on pathways or near court entrances.

This is a smoke, vape, alcohol, drug and sugar free event.

Contact the Deadly Choices Events Team at [email protected] if you need any further information.
