The Deadly Choices NQ Netball Carnival is back for 2026!
Join us at Townsville City Netball Association for a deadly day! Showcase your skills in front of Australian Netball Diamond #105 Sharon Finnan-White, win some prizes, and have a deadly day with Mob.
Competition is open to U18 Girls (ages 13–18) and Opens (18+) in Women’s and Mixed.
Sharon will be scouting talented players aged 14-23 for First Nations Academy of Excellence (FNAE) Emerging Talents Program.
Too young to compete? Sharon will also be holding Skills and Drills sessions for 6-13 year old players.

Team numbers
A team may have a maximum of 10 registered players.
Team lists must be submitted by Friday, 15 May 2026.
Do I have to provide a 715 Health Check or have a Proof of Booking confirmation?
Yes, all Deadly Choices events require participants to have an up to date 715 Health Check.
No 715 Health Check = no play
If you have had your 715 Health Check between Friday, 6 June 2025 and today, you are good to go.
If not, find your nearest clinic here and complete your 715 Health Check by Friday, 8 May to be eligible.
Please note: ‘Proof of Booking’ will no longer be accepted by the Deadly Choices team in lieu of a 715 Health Check confirmation form. All players must have completed a 715 Health Check within the 12 months prior to event day to compete.
When will the draw be released?
Deadly Choices Events Team will conduct the official draw for the carnival.
Teams will receive the draw on the week of the event.
What are the key due dates?
Registrations will close Monday, 30 March or when the event reaches capacity.
Payments due: Monday, 30 March
Uniform orders due: Friday, 10 April
715 Health Check forms due: Friday, 8 May
Team lists due: Friday, 15 May
Do I need to pay to play?
We have updated our carnival fees.
Open Women’s division: $200 per team (non-refundable)
Open Mixed division: $200 per team (non-refundable)
U18s Girls division: Free
All team fees must be paid in full by Monday, 30 March. Team managers will receive payment instructions in the registration confirmation email.
Please note: Teams that do not pay on time will not be included in the final draw.
Can I register as an individual?
Do parents/guardians need to be in attendance?
Players under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Spectators can enjoy shaded areas, grab a healthy tukka from vendors, and check out information stalls at the venue.
What’s included in the kit?
Every registered player will get either a playing shirt or singlet (based on team decision).
Shortly after registration, team managers will receive an ordering portal link from [email protected]. Use the portal to select your team’s shirt type (singlet or playing shirt) and design.
All uniform orders are due by Friday, 10 April.

Can you play up or down a division in the DC Netball Carnival?
All players must register under their correct age category.
What is the First Nations Academy of Excellence Netball identification opportunity?
Throughout the carnival, Australian Netball Diamond #105 Sharon Finnan-White will be on the ground, offering a selection identification opportunity with the First Nations Academy of Excellence (FNAE) Netball Emerging Talent Program for players aged 14–23.
As she watches games across the day, Sharon may invite some players to join the FNAE Academy.
Can non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons participate?
All players must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and submit a current 715 Health Check confirmation form.
Can I purchase food at the venue?
Deadly Choices will provide all participants with a free lunch pass for one food item and one sugar free drink.
Food and drinks can also be purchased from vendors at the venue. In line with Deadly Choices healthy food guidelines, vendors will not sell meals or drinks containing added sugar or alcohol.
You’re welcome to bring your own healthy snacks or meals, but please ensure they’re no added sugar products.
Water stations will be available throughout the day.
To support a safe and healthy environment, all Deadly Choices events are smoke, vape, alcohol, and sugar free.
How do I get to the DC Netball Carnival? (transport/parking)
Parking is available but limited, as shown on the site map. For this reason, please allow enough time to park and walk to the courts. To reduce congestion, we encourage carpooling or using public transport where possible.

Where can I get a 715 Health Check?
You can get your 715 Health Check at your local Community Controlled Health Service or GP.
Ask them to complete and stamp the 715 Health Check confirmation form (included in your registration pack).
Are there any accessibility features available?
Townsville City Netball Association offers accessible parking, toilets and wheelchair access to courts and spectator areas.
