Brisbane Broncos Deadly Choices Round Launch 2025

To mark Kia Australia’s powerful decision to place the Deadly Choices logo at the front of the Brisbane Broncos Indigenous jersey for the fifth year ahead of the Round 24 clash against the Dolphins NRL on Saturday, 16 August 2025, the four partners—Deadly Choices, Brisbane Broncos, Kia, and Health and Wellbeing Queensland headed to Minjerribah for the Straddie Sharks RLFC on Monday, 11 August to bring the story to life on community turf.

Deadly Choices was represented by Institute for Urban Inidgenous Health Commercial Operations Executive Director Dallas Leon & DC Ambassador Petero Civoniceva, the Broncos were represented by former player Jharal YowYeh& NRLW Tara Mcgrath-West, Kia was represented by Fleet Sales Manager Jolyon Hurst and Health and Wellbeing Queensland CEO Robyn Littlewood.

At this heartfelt island activation, the Brisbane Broncos formally presented Aunty Evelyn with signed, frame jersey of the 2025 Indigenous artwork “Ancestor’s Armour: Version 2” created by Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo‑Collins as a tribute to her cultural artistry and deep ties to Country.

This also led to the unveiling of the Deadly Choices health check shirt, a version of this significant artwork repurposed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples health. Community members will be able to visit their local participating Community Controlled Health Service and recieve a shirt when they complete a 715 Health Check.

As well during the visit, Straddie Sharks and Yulu Burri Ba hosted Broncos Game Development staff and club Ambassadors to deliver an energetic junior clinic for players selected to participate in the pre-game mini-league at Suncorp Stadium during Indigenous Round.

With this engagement, the lead-in to the Indigenous Round becomes far more than just a jersey reveal—it becomes a powerful narrative of culture and community, setting the stage for a compelling build-up to the Round 24 matchup.
