Broncos Deadly Choices Round 2026

Deadly Choices is celebrating Community and 15 years of partnership with the Brisbane Broncos ahead of Saturday’s 2026 Deadly Choices Round at Suncorp Stadium, with this year’s activity kicking off earlier this week at the Broncos’ Clive Berghofer Centre.

The Deadly Choices and Brisbane Broncos parntership is proudly supported by Health and Wellbeing Queensland.

In a powerful demonstration of commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, Broncos’ partner Kia Australia has donated its logo placement for the seventh consecutive year to display Deadly Choices at the front and centre on this year’s jersey.

The Broncos squad trained in their Deadly Choices health check shirts with an active audience from the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health’s (IUIH) All Abilities team.

The All Abilities team was selected through IUIH Disability Services’ Mob on the Move program, an allied health group program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 8–16 years who have NDIS plans. Mob on the Move aims to inspire young people to get active, build lifelong healthy habits and encourage participation in sport within their Community.

The team received a deadly surprise from Deadly Choices Ambassadors Kotoni Staggs and Tamika Upton and Broncos NRLW player Julia Robinson, learning that they will take part in a pre-game mini-league at Suncorp Stadium during Deadly Choices Round.

“It’s so special,” Upton, a proud Barada woman from Central Queensland said.

“A lot of these kids obviously know about Suncorp and the Broncos, watching it on TV, but they’re going to run out there and experience it on the field.”

The participants were presented with their playing kits from Struddys, including football boots donated by ASICS. They will also be arriving to the game in style with Kia Australia donating a branded fleet of vehicles to transport the participants from all over South East Queensland.

The All Abilities team will take part in the mini-league alongside teams representing ATSICHS Brisbane, Yulu-Burri-Ba Aboriginal Corporation for Community Health, Goolburri Aboriginal Health Advancement and Galangoor Duwalami Primary Healthcare. The remaining teams will be presented with their kits at the Broncos Captain’s Run this Friday.

Other Deadly Choices game day activity includes an Elders on field experience, coin toss by a young community member, Deadly Kindies activation outside the stadium and much more.

For IUIH CEO and Torres Strait Islander man from Mabuiag and Yam, Wayne Ah Boo, the continued support of the Broncos and Kia is an important part of the impact Deadly Choices can have in Community.

“We are excited to celebrate our 15-year partnership with the Brisbane Broncos at this year’s Deadly Choices Round,” Ah Boo said.

“This particular round is about recognising our Community for their commitment to making healthy choices, celebrating our culture and inspiring the next generation’s health journey.

“I also want to say a big esso to Kia for donating the front of the playing jersey to Deadly Choices for the seventh consecutive year.

“This same design has been repurposed for a Deadly Choices health check shirt, meaning Mob will be able to visit their local participating Community Controlled Health Service and receive this deadly shirt when completing a 715 Health Check.

“By the Brisbane Broncos and Kia demonstrating their dedication to community initiatives, it enhances Deadly Choices’ impact in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes.”

Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said Deadly Choices Round had become an important part of the Club’s calendar and took on even greater meaning alongside the game-wide celebration of Indigenous Round.

“Indigenous Round is a really important time for rugby league and Deadly Choices Round gives us an opportunity to celebrate that here at the Broncos in a way that is meaningful to our Club and our communities,” Donaghy said.

“Kia giving up the front of the jersey for Deadly Choices is a powerful demonstration of what this round is all about.

“That position is one of the most prominent assets in our partnership, and for Kia to step aside and put Deadly Choices front and centre shows a genuine commitment to the cause and to creating an impact beyond rugby league.

“It means an important health message will be carried onto Suncorp Stadium by our players and seen by members and fans across the country.

“We’re extremely proud of our relationship with both Kia and Deadly Choices and what we’ve been able to achieve together.”
