The Deadly Choices Brand
Deadly Choices is one of Australia’s most recognised Indigenous-owned and created brand.
Motivating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples towards optimal health outcomes is at the core of what Deadly Choices represents.
As Australia’s foremost preventative health program, Deadly Choices has made a real difference in closing the health and life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
While the concept of incentivised healthcare among communities is nothing new, when the Deadly Choices brand was created, an informal ownership of a uniquely created Indigenous identity had been delivered.
By garnering initial support from Queensland’s elite National Rugby League (NRL) franchises; the Broncos, Titans, Cowboys and more recently the Dolphins; plus related Indigenous Ambassadors from those clubs; created a connection that now expands Australia-wide to organisations across the NRL, AFL and Super Netball competitions.
Co-branded incentives include a catalogue of 60-plus shirts, polos and hoodies available at participating community-controlled health services across the country, for anyone who completes an annual, Medicare-coded 715 health check.
Similarly designed beanies, scarves and bucket hats are offered at participating clinics as merchandise incentives for annual flu vaccinations.
Limited-edition shirts are offered to graduates of the Deadly Choices Education Programs delivered into Primary and Secondary schools.
