Scott’s Deadly Choice: Drinking heaps of water

Travelling from his hometown of Mount Isa to Townsville to begin his NRL career with the Cowboys in 1998, proud Kalkadoon man Scott transitioned on to the Broncos after three seasons, racking up a total of 80-odd games before moving south in 2004, where he took up ball-playing duties with the newly formed joint entity, the Wests Tigers.

It proved a masterstroke with the then 24-year-old handed the Captaincy during this formative year, turned out for all three games for Queensland in the State of Origin series and the following year scooped the pool as a Premiership winner, Clive Churchill Medal recipient, and Dally M Captain of the Year.

This true-blue Queenslander returned as a key attacking weapon and Captain for the Gold Coast Titans, eventually winding out his career with a return to the Broncos where he claimed his 300th appearance in his final game of the 2013 season.

A four-game veteran of the Indigenous All-stars, Scott made five appearances in Origin and turned out in the green and gold of Australia on four occasions.
