Our Deadly Choices Ambassadors Steve Renouf, Bo de la Cruz and Petero Civoniceva booked in to receive their first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at Moreton ATSICHS’ Caboolture Respiratory clinic, after senior executives from the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) received their first dose yesterday.
All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 18 years are now eligible to receive the vaccine, which is made available through Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.
Getting the vaccine is a safe and effective way of protecting yourself and your community from getting really sick from COVID-19.
Deadly Choices encourages family, particularly Elders and community to get vaccinated, so that they are protected from serious illness from COVID-19.
Joining the Deadly Choices Ambassadors will be IUIH Clinical Director, Dr Carmel Nelson to discuss vaccine roll-out through the IUIH network of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service areas.
