Torita’s Deadly Choice: To train every day

Kamilaroi woman, Torita is a dual Paralympic athlete having debuted in London 2012, before featuring at Rio in 2016, competing in the 400m and 200m sprint events.

Torita’s performance highlights though, came at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships where she claimed bronze in the T38 400m category and backed that up during the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships where she again was able to secure third place overall in the discipline and a gutsy seventh in the 200m Final.

Born with cerebral palsy and blind in her right eye, with only 10% minimised vision in her left, Torita was motivated towards athletics through the efforts of Cathy Freeman at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
